TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh on Monday criticised chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for taking action against the agitating Anganwadi workers. He said that the state government had already clamped Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) on Anganwadis.
The Anganwadis were agitating for the past 45 days and wondered why the government had not addressed their problems. He said that the government issuing notice to withdraw the services of agitating Anganwadi workers show the impatience and incapability of the state government.
He said that the chief minister had lost his mind with the agitation of own party MLAs on one side and his sister Y S Sharmila coming as the Congress chief on the other. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had lost the mental balance with these acts and was showing the anger on the Anganwadis.
He said that the Anganwadis have called for Challo Vijayawada agitation to mount pressure on the government. The agitation had caused tremors in Tadepalli palace, Lokesh said. Jagan Mohan Reddy was losing his control with the agitation of the Anganwadi workers, who refused to bow down to the state government.
Lokesh asked the chief minister to accept the just demands of the Anganwadi workers. He said that the demands were all genuine and needed to be addressed at the earliest. He said that the TDP-Jana Sena government would recruit all those who were removed by the present government. He asked the Anganwadi workers not to be feared by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s pressure tactics. The TDP-Jana Sena government would recruit them all once the government is formed, he said.
He congratulated the Anganwadi workers for not bowing down to the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. He extended support for their strike and said that the government has to come down on the demands. He said that the TDP-Jana Sena government would accept all the demands of the Anganwadi workers once the elections are over.
