Telugu Desam Party national general secretary Nara Lokesh Naidu dared opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy to topple chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s government. Talking to media at Tirupati, before leaving for Kadapa on a two-day tour, Lokesh asked how could Jagamohan Reddy say that he could topple the democratically elected government in one day.
He interacted with the party workers in the TDP training centre located at Tirupati. He dismissed the charge that TDP was offering money to the YSRC MLAs to switch loyalties.
” Let them prove that we had offered money and positions to the YSRC MLAs,” he asked. ” How could we stop any MLA who wants to join the party with development aim. They are coming to us after watching chief minister Naidu’s developmental programs. We don’t want to stop any MLA, who wants to support us,” he said.
” All the MLAs have joined the TDP with a view to develop their constituencies. We will welcome such MLAs,” he said.
When asked if the party could ask the MLA to seek fresh mandate as eas being demanded by YSRC leaders, he said let Jaganmohan Reddy first respond on his threat that he would topple the government in one day.
Lokesh arrived in Kadapa in the afternoon to a tumultuous welcome. Hundreds of party leaders and workers gave him rousing reception when the heir apparent of CM Naidu entered the town. he is the district in charge from the party.
In-charge minister and HRD minister Ganta Srinivasarao and deputy chairman of Legislative Council Satish Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh and Kadapa TDP president R Srinivas Reddy received him.
He will stay in local R&B guest house today and tomorrow. Earlier Lokesh hoisted party flag at Railway Kodur and inaugurated party’s new office building at Rajampet.
