Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) and the Andhra Pradesh government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 7, 2025. The agreement, signed by NREDCAP Managing Director M. Kamalakar Babu and TPREL, aims to develop up to 7 GW of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid systems, with or without storage solutions. The estimated investment for these projects is around ₹49,000 crore, marking a major step in the state’s clean energy journey.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Energy Minister G. Ravi Kumar, and Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand. TPREL Managing Director Deepesh Nanda also attended the event, showing the importance of this collaboration.
The collaboration is expected to create approximately 33,000 jobs, significantly contributing to the state’s socio-economic growth. By focusing on skill development and livelihood support, the projects aim to empower local youth while advancing Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy goals.
