TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh on Friday received a notice from the APCID for issuing threats to the officials in the name of Red Book. The ACB court had directed the CID to serve notice to Lokesh and seek his explanation.
Lokesh on receiving the notices through his WhatsApp number, replied to the CID officials confirming the receipt of the notice.
Lokesh had been saying that he had a Red Book with him in which he had written names of some of the officials and the ruling YSR Congress leaders who caused troubles to the TDP leaders. He said that he would give the book to party president N Chandrababu Naidu to take action against them once the TDP formed the government after the 2024 general election.
The CID alleged that the threats from Lokesh were aimed at some of the witnesses in the skill development scam in which Chandrababu Naidu was arrested. Lokesh was threatening the officials of severe action, which is in violation of the 41A notice given to him in the past.
The court also said that Lokesh was threatening everyone and sought the permission of the court to arrest him. The court posted the case to January 9 and directed the CID officials to issue notice.
However, Lokesh said that he had not threatened anyone involved in the investigation of the cases filed against his father Chandrababu Naidu or himself. He said that the names in the Red Book were only those who violated the rules and acted against the TDP at the behest of the ruling YSR Congress.
He said that he had written the names of the officers who were acting as the agents of the ruling party. He asked the officials to work as the government servants and not as the agents of the ruling party.
