Andhra Pradesh’s DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao, announced major developments in high-profile cases. The police have transferred multiple cases, including the TDP headquarters attack and Gannavaram incident, to the CID for further investigation.
DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao confirmed a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy, YSRCP leader. The Guntur District SP issued this notice in connection with one of the cases. DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao hinted at the possibility of detaining Sajjala for questioning.
Addressing the controversial ghee adulteration case, DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao clarified that the Supreme Court didn’t doubt the state government’s Special Investigation Team (SIT). He explained that the court’s decision to form a new team aims to ensure an independent probe.
The new SIT will include two CBI officers, two state police officials, and one representative from FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India). DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao revealed that they’ve nominated two senior IPS officers, IG Sarvasreshta Tripathi and DIG Gopinath Jetty, as state representatives. He emphasized that this team will operate independently, without interference from the state police.
