Ram Charan’s highly anticipated action flick Dhruva released amidst a lot of positivity and garnered unanimous reports from the early shows in all areas. Surender Reddy’s racy narration and the commendable performances by Ram Charan and Aravind Swamy are the top assets for this film. Charan’s makeover has become a talking point among the audience.
Despite opening to a strong word of mouth and positive web reviews, Dhruva managed to register only lukewarm collections on its opening day in all areas. In overseas, Dhruva collected $ 223K from its premiers, which is well short of Charan’s Bruce Lee. Charan is in US for promoting the film, but the premier collections have slightly disappointed the trade circles. Dhruva should have a strong weekend for breaching the break even mark in its full run. Trade is expecting huge numbers during the weekend as the content in the film is accessible to overseas audience.
Dhruva started on a decent note in Telugu states. Considering the cash crunch and the remake genre, it is a fairly good start for Dhruva. The weekend bookings are solid and with Monday being a public holiday, the film is likely to hold strength at the box office.
