Telugu360 Rating: 2.5/5
There is a lot of impact of Malayalam films in Tollywood. Such emotional stories are written in Telugu currently. Ma Nanna Superhero is an emotional film that narrates about the bond between a father and his son. Abhilash is the director and Sudheer Babu, Sajayi Shinde and Sai Chand played the lead roles. UV Creations are the producers and here is the review of Ma Nanna Superhero:
Story:
Prakash (Sai Chand) works as a lorry driver. After giving birth to a baby, his wife passes away. Prakash has to go on trips on professional front for days and his son is left in an orphanage home. He falls into a legal trap and gets a jail term for 20 years. His son is named Jani (Sudheer Babu) and Srinivas (Sayaji Shinde) adopts him. He raises him with love but several unexpected incidents take place in Srinivas’ life. A series of such incidents bring hatred on Jani for his father Srinivas. But his father is a hero for Jani and he loves his dad to the core. Srinivas invests in stock markets and loses big. His debts keep increasing and he owes a crore to a local politician. Jani has to arrange Rs 1 crore to save his dad. It is then Prakash gets released from jail. He starts his journey in search of his son and the rest of Ma Nanna Superhero is all about what happens next.
Analysis:
The story of Ma Nanna Superhero has a novelty with enough depth. The film starts off with a father who gets jailed for a crime that he had never committed. Soon, the story shifts towards Srinivas and Jani. The bonding between Srinivas and Jani is narrated well. Soon, the hatred of his father for his son is well established. Jani becomes responsible for his father who has a lot of debts. The real drama starts after Prakash enters the scene. The lottery price and the consequences along with the new characters and the emotional drama in the second half of Ma Nanna Superhero is impressive.
The first half of Ma Nanna Superhero gives enough clarity to the second half and the conflict. The narration is quite slow with a lot of restrictions. The second half is quite crucial for Ma Nanna Superhero but the director fails to live up to the expectations. The lottery episode is dragged out a lot and it occupies most of the second half of Ma Nanna Superhero. Keeping the father and son drama aside, the film takes on a crime side. The real colour of the people gets exposed. There should have been an emotional drama between Jani and Prakash. Raja Sundaram’s episode fails to entertain the audience. The song in the second half also is a barrier. The emotional drama in the last 20 minutes fails to impress the audience. The climax is simple and the drama between Jani and Prakash is well narrated.
Performances:
Sudheer Babu has done action films and mass entertainers mostly. For the first time, he picked up an emotional drama. Sudheer Babu has done well as an emotional son who showers love for his father. He excelled in the emotional scenes. Sayaji Shinde’s role is new and he did his part well. His role should have been extended with more emotion. Sai Chand also gets an important role. All the needed emotion is rolled over his role. The director should have worked more on the emotional drama between Sudheer Babu and Sai Chand. There is no prominence for the heroine’s role in Ma Nanna Superhero.
Ma Nanna Superhero is an emotional drama with has enough depth. But the director gets confused during the narration. The director managed not to deviate and he narrated the emotional drama in his own style which had enough flaws and no vulgarity. A major emotional connection went missing in Ma Nanna Superhero because of which the film fell short of expectations.
