Maha Samudram movie review

Sharwanand and Siddharth are teaming up for the first time for a mass entertainer titled ‘Maha Samudram’. Ajay Bhupathi is the director and the film is releasing on October 13th in USA and 14th in India. Maha Samudram is carrying good expectations and has Aditi Rao Hydari and Anu Emmanuel as the female leads. AK Entertainments are the producers and Chaitan Bharadwaj is the music director. Rao Ramesh and Jagapathi Babu played other important roles in Maha Samudram.

Story:

Arjun (Sharwanand) and Vijay ( Siddharth) are childhood friends who grew up like brothers. The two friends come across a smuggling mafia don Dhanunjay (KGF Ram). Vijay who loves Maha ( Aditi Rao), is forced to leave the Vizag city due to a conflict with the mafia. After Vijay leaves, small-scale smuggler Chunchu Mama ( Jagapathi Babu) lures Arjun to enter the murky world. The rest of the film deals with how the lives of Maha, Arjun, Vijay conflict with each other

Analysis:
The story of this film is a good one from the commercial standpoint, it has depth. There are seven main characters in the film; five of them are dealt with ease. The first half picks up momentum as it progresses; the interval episode leaves the audience with a positive impression. Ajay Bhupathi who delivered a hit film RX-100 in his debut has shown impressive talent handling the first half. The technical team adequately backs him; Dialogues are to the point yet effective. Siddharth’s characterization is not justified after he comes back to Vizag. The film graph goes down as it progress in second half

Both Sharwanand and Siddharth deliver impressive performances, So is Jagapathi Babu and Rao Ramesh. Aditi Rao Hydari has got some scope to show acting talent and she did adequately. Anu Emmanuel’s role is insignificant. Jagapathi Babu as Chunchu mama delivers yet another effortless role. KGF ram is fierce as Dhanunjay.

Production house AK Entertainments has spent lavishly on this film. Background score stands out of all technical elements. Cinematography is good as well; aerial shots to capture the sea are outstanding.

‘ Maha Samudram ‘ has multiple positive factors if we measure those independently but, the overall impact is not that great due to poorly executed final portions of the film. Sharwanand, Jagapathi Babu Deliver rock-solid performance. Overall, the festive season in Telugu states might help this film to stand as an average fare at the Box-office. Those who like commercial potboilers can give it a try watching ‘Maha Samudram’.
