The Communist Party of India (CPI) has reportedly agreed to take 3 MLA seats as part of the Mahakutami seat sharing in Telangana elections. The CPI central committee took the final decision after party leaders were satisfied with the offer of additional two MLC seats from the Congress. The news of CPI latest decision has come as happy development for Mahakutami allies.
This has cleared some doubts till now that CPI may take the extreme step of breaking away from alliance and contest alone. But party leaders have decided to make some small sacrifices for the time being in order to teach a strong lesson to the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao.
KCR has recently begun a renewed attack on the rivals saying that the internal differences within the Mahakutami allies will help TRS to come to power again in December elections. His comments came in the wake of Prof. Kodandaram and CPI demanding more seats from Congress.
With the sudden turn in CPI decision, the Mahakutami allies are expecting good days ahead. CPI state secretary Chada Venkata Reddy will contest from Husnabad and Vijaya from Wyra. The decision on Bellampalli seat is yet to be taken. The Mahakutami allies are looking for a good break in the form of possible unity that will ensure half battle won against KCR.
