Mahanati is an upcoming biopic on the legendary actress Savitri and Keerthy Suresh is essaying the lead role. The film has strong star cast like Samantha, Dulquer Salman, Vijay Deverakonda and so on to make it even bigger. The production of this film is done by prestigious Vyjayanti Movies and music is composed by Mickey J Meyer.
The album begins with the title song Mahanati which expresses about the glory of Savitri and sung by brilliantly by Anurag Kulkarni. Lyrics by Rama Jogayya Sastry is another biggest asset for the song. Interestingly the song has modern outlook despite the theme of the film. The overall feel of the film is greatly depicted in this song.
Aagipo Baalyama is a nostalgic number by Ramya Behara with the usage of old time instruments. Sirivennela Sitaramasastry does his magic again with thoughtful lyrics on childhood. The song has great innocence associated with it and it is a pleasure to hear such composition in Telugu Cinema.
The already popular Mooga Manasulu makes its appearance in style and the song has grand arrangements with French horns, strings, and feisty trumpets. Shreya Ghoshal proves once again why she is the most melodious singer in South India and she is complimented well by Anurag Kulkarni. The song also has Mickey J Meyer’s typical melodic style.
The renowned classical singer Charulatha Mani’s Sadaa Ninnu arrives next with swift manner and the song gives a classical touch to the overall album. The pristine feelings of love were greatly depicted by the singer and the entire arrangement. The usage of veena gives it an earthly feel as well.

The finale occurs on a sad note with Chivaraku Migiledhi sung by the talented singer Sunitha and penned by Sitarama Sastry. The legacy of an legendary actress like Savitri is beautifully presented by the song. The sad ending of Savitri and her struggles of last stages is convincingly penned by Sitarama Sastry. Mickey J Meyer interestingly composed this in western harmonic minor scale to evoke the feeling of sadness and melancholy.
