Superstar Mahesh Babu’s 25th film is titled as Maharshi. Directed by Vamshi Paidipalli, the film is jointly bankrolled by three top production houses. Initially, it was Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt who announced the project. Later, Prasad V Potluri joined them.
Though it is Dil Raju who is steering this prestigious project and overseeing all the production formalities, any decision relating to the film’s trade is being finalized with the consent of both Ashwini Dutt and PVP. This is resulting in unnecessary delay regarding closing of pre release offers in major areas.
Recently, a noted distribution house in overseas has come forward and offered 16 Crores for the theatrical rights of the film. Dil Raju is content with the offer and decided to close the deal. However, Ashwini Dutt is reluctant to accept the offer and asked Dil Raju to wait for some more time in anticipation of a bigger deal. He also suggested for an own release in overseas if they fail to get the desired rate from buyers there.
Likewise, every decision relating to Maharshi is getting delayed because there is a lot of confusion on who exactly is calling the shots on trade matters.
