Akkineni Nagarjuna has been picking up some interesting subjects off late and his latest release Manmadhudu-2 has been building good buzz already with great production values and hilarious comedy lines. The film is directed by Rahul Ravindran and stars Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead. It also has some strong character actor base including Vennela Kishore, Lakshmi and so on. The music is composed by newcomer Chaitan Bharadwaj.
Hey Menina: A trendy number reflecting the heroics of Akkineni Nagarjuna and his timeless aging is clearly shown in the song. The composer Chaitan Bharadwaj himself sang this song and he does a commendable job. The song has a Bachata rhythm which is quite foot tapping as well. The rap portion in the between which blends with sensual guitar is a pleasure to hear.
Naalona: A feel good melody sung by the extremely talented Chinmayi Sripada brings a great feel to the overall album. The usage of dewdrop acoustic guitar and swift chord progression is quite fresh to hear. The song has an optimistic feel associated with it throughout. Lyrics by Subham Vishwanath are quite experimental and pleasant to hear. The usage of classical violin in the first interlude in the scale of Raaga Shankarabharanam is quite mesmerizing.
All in all, these two song releases have built much more positive expectations on the film being a musical hit as well.
