Remember the Charmme and Sivaji starrer ‘Mantra’ which set the box-office coffers ringing last decade? Yes, the team behind the horror thriller — Ravi Prakash and Kalyan Ram — are doing another film and this film too, more or less, falls in the same genre but is high on humour. Titled ‘Jigel’, headlining the film would be Adith Arun who is on a high post the success of ‘PSV Garuda Vega’ and is also awaiting the release of ‘Minugurulu’ director Ayodhya Kumar’s ‘24 Kisses’.
It’s a new-age commercial comedy which also masquerades as a thriller. Debutant Mallikarjun Rao is the director, we’ve learnt.
“The producers are basically distributors and understand the craft well. They neither aim high nor low but are practical, a reason why Adith green-lit the project. The actor is extremely upbeat about the BO prospects of the film,” a source close to the project informed us.
