The three Girijan members of Telugu Desam party of G.K. Veedhi mandal were released by the CPI (Maoist) 10 days after their abduction of on Wednesday night . They joined their families on Thursday.
The Maoists handed over TDP mandal unit president Mamidi Balayya Padal, party senior leader Vandalam Balayya and district committee member Mukkala Mahesh to the Girijan employees association leaders with a warning that they should oppose the bauxite mining and participate in the anti- Bauxite agitation of the Adivasis.
The Maoist are opposed to the mining of bauxite and especially by the corporate entities. Now, TDP government’s reported move to allow the Jindal South West and AN RAK to revive their activities has given the Maoists an opportunity once again to mobilize tribal people.
