Ron Yohann, whose breathtaking musical score breathed life into last year’s Tamil horror-thriller “Maya”, has been roped in to work on Taapsee Pannu’s next yet-untitled Telugu outing. Interestingly, this project, too, is a horror film.
“Nearly 60-70 percent of music contributes to the making of any horror film and it applies to my film too. I really liked Ron’s work in ‘Maya’, and the way he conveyed so much through his score in the climax was amazing. I’m really excited to be working with him,” film’s director Mahi Raghav told IANS.
A horror-comedy, the principal shooting is expected to commence from January next year.
The film also stars ace comedians Srinivas Reddy, Vennela Kishore, Jayaprakash Reddy and Shakalaka Shankar.
“It’s actually a comedy with a horror premise. Usually, humans are afraid of ghosts but what happens when the tables are turned? The flaws of the lead characters become their strengths and that’s makes our film different from any other horror flick,” he said.
Apart from the horror angle, the film’s core is a drama centered on Taapsee.
Raghav has assembled a very young and strong technical team.
“Except me, the rest of the technical crew is under the age group of 30. Sachin and Haricharan, the sound designers of ‘Maya’, will take care of the sound department. The cinematographer is Anish Tharun Kumar, who has worked on Tamil films ‘Rangoon’ and ‘Andhaghaaram’, and editor is Shravan, who previously worked on ‘Gamyam’ and ‘Vedam’,” he said.
The film will be bankrolled by producer duo Vijay and Sashi under the banner of 70 Entertainment.
