Pawan Kalyan’s latest outing Katamarayudu, which released to mixed reports all over, took a mediocre start at the overseas box office. Despite releasing in a huge number of locations, the film has failed to meet the expectations of trade circles.
As the overseas distributor didn’t disclose the premiers day figures, the cumulative numbers of premiers and Friday were revealed just a while ago. As per the reports, Katamarayudu collected a total ( Friday + Premiers) of $ 644 K from 221 locations on its first day. The film managed to rake in $ 433 K on its premiers day, which is way behind the premier collections of Sardar Gabbar Singh, Aagadu, Brahmotsavam and Janatha Garage.
Considering the humongous release and the pre release buzz on the film, the collections are a huge disappointment for trade circles. Despite Pawan’s one man show, the lackluster script and poor technical values have proved to be the minus points for the film. As the film was sold for exorbitant prices in all areas, it should have a strong weekend to sustain at the box office.
