Back then, mega hero Varun Tej was supposed to do a film that has him playing the role of a kick-boxer. The talented lad went to the USA to practice boxing and returned after taking sufficient training that helps him portray the role. But then, Valmiki came out in the middle.
Newcomer director Kiran Korrapati was supposed to helm this boxing drama, but suddenly Varun Tej left that project midway in February this year. He started working with Harish Shankar and came up with the Telugu remake version of Jigarthanda, which is releasing as Valmiki this Friday. But the boxing film of the actor is only put on hold and will take off now.
On the sidelines of an interview today, Varun Tej clarified that he will take up the boxing film from January onwards after taking a couple of months rest. He has indirectly hinted that to seal the success given by F2, he opted for another mass film like Valmiki.
A rumour has that Bollywood’s veteran hero Sunil Shetty will make his Telugu debut through this boxing drama. The film is likely to be bankrolled by unsung Allu brother, Allu Bobby.
