Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy was sitting Nellore MP during 2019 election but he was not given YCP ticket to re-contest. CM Jaganmohan Reddy snatched TDP candidate Adala Prabhakar Reddy and fielded him in Nellore MP seat. Then, Jagan promised to give Rajya Sabha seat to Rajamohan Reddy, who eventually compromised. But recently, TDP senior leader Beeda Mastan Rao joined the YCP after Jagan promised him Rajya Sabha nomination. This became a hot topic in YCP circles. Everybody started predicting the end of Rajamohan Reddy’s political career as his age is also advancing. But Rajamohan is not willing to leave it just like that. Just like Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, the Ex MP is also thinking of raising a banner of revolt.
During YSR time, Mekapati family was the undisputed power centre in Nellore district. But now, Jagan is not giving that kind of chance to them. Rajamohan’s son Gowtham Reddy is made a minister. On this plea, Jagan has decided to ignore his Rajya Sabha seat promise to Rajamohan Reddy. The Ex MP is also unhappy that Minister Anil Kumar Yadav and MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy are enjoying greater influence and benefits now. YCP circles say that Anam and Mekapati families will not have their past glory as Jagan does not usually care much about senior leaders.
