AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to give a ministerial berth to Shravan Kumar, who is son of Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao who was shot dead by Maoists a few months ago in the Araky valley. Naidu also decided to give ministry to muslim minority leader N.Md. Farooq, who is currently chairman of Legislature Council.
Naidu told Shravan to work hard and keep up the prestige of TDP since ministry was being given to him though he was relatively very young. Shravan’s father Sarveswara Rao was killed by Maoists recently when he was proceeding from Araku to attend a Grama darshini programme in a nearby village in the valley. Maoists had owned up responsibility for the killing, saying that Sarveswara Rao was working against the interests of his own tribal people in the agency region.
Naidu asked Shravan to strive hard for the implementation of government welfare programmes effectively and bring good name to the party. Shravan was advised to coordinate with the district officials and party leaders in Vizag.
Naidu also held special meetings with muslim minority leaders and decided to give them plum posts. He asked them to strengthen the TDP and create awareness on the misdeeds of the Modi government at the Centre.
