MLA is an upcoming entertainer starring Kalyan Ram and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles. Music for the film is composed by Mani Sharma and directed by Upendra Madhav. The film is made under the banner Blue Planet Entertainments and People Media Factory.
The album begins on a peppy note with Girlfriend sung by Anurag Kulkarni and the typical Mani Sharma riffs are clearly present in the song. The funkiness in bass guitar, rhythm and strings is quite evident throughout the composition. Penned by Rama Jogayya Sastry, the song is quite enjoyable to hear and trendy.
Most Wanted Abbayi has contemporary touches with desi foot tapping rhythm. Yazin Nazir and Ramya Behara together do a commendable job for this mass number and it definitely reminds the listener of Mani Sharma’s earlier day chart-busters. The interludes maintain the thumping effect created and sustain it with a tinge a classicism.
It is time for a motivational number and Yuddham Yuddham does exactly that in style. Anurag Kulkarni delivers another winner again with his power packed voice. Ramajogayya Sastry’s lyrics are quite on the point and also inspirational. The chord progression is quite impressive and mild bass work gives it a trance feel.
The finale arrives with Hey Indu – a sweet melody sung by Rahul Sipligunj which also has a mass touch. The strings are quite typical of Mani Sharma’s folk numbers and it impressively fuses contemporary sounds with mass appeal.
Verdict:
MLA is an interesting album with Mani Sharma’s signature tunes which are quite enjoyable to hear.
