Nellore Rural MLA and YSRCP leader Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy led a protest program against the installation of mobile cell tower at 3 rd Mile centre in Nellore town.
He said the cell tower had been erected against the wishes of local people. Leading the protest movement of the local people, especially women folk, Sridhar Reddy said the GTL company, which installed the tower, was ignoring the protests of the people and going ahead with their program of installing boosters.
Extending support to the people of the area, which falls in his constituency, Sridhar Reddy said to silence the voice against the cell tower, the company got the go-ahead orders from the court.
” There is an anganvadi centre near the cell tower. And the people are apprehensive about the ill effects of the radiation the cell tower emits. The people have been fighting for three months for the shifting of tower to a place which is far away from the colony. It is unfortunate that the company is ignoring the concerns of the people,” he said.
He opposed the installation of the boosters to the cell tower. ” We will respect the orders of the court. Still we don’t want be cowed down by the company’s adamant behavior. We will continue our fight till the cell tower is shifted from the third mile centre,” Kotamreddy said.
