Congress President Rahul Gandhi, AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu and other opposition leaders made unsparing criticism of the Modi government’s ordinance giving powers to the Central agencies to intercept computers and mobile phones. Rahul said that Modi is acting like a dictator who is insecure and impatient. The latest ordinance is the best example of PM Modi’s dictatorial tendencies.
Rahul said the 10 central agencies can keep an eye on all computers and mobile devices which shows how Modi wants to control opposition parties and leaders. The rival parties think the ordinance is aimed at targetting the opposition parties only. Rahul said the latest ordinance is not acceptable in a democracy and the beginning of the fall of PM Modi has already begun.
Chandrababu Naidu described the centre’s order as very unfortunate and it was nothing but an attempt to trample upon the rights of the people. He questioned the need for bringing such an objectionable order without prior notice or information to the public. With the general elections just four months away, the opposition parties are hitting hard at the Modi government’s policies.
