The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 20,000 crore Defence Industrial production corridor for the Bundelkhand region. It is a region that is divided between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Speaking in the ‘Investors Meet’ in Lucknow, PM Modi said, this industrial corridor will generate over 2,50,000 jobs and will bring jobs to one of the most backward and impoverished regions in the country.
The announcement comes as a part of the two Defence Industrial produce corridor that Modi has announced in this year’s budget. The announcement came as a part of his two-day Uttar Pradesh Tour. The Indian PM inaugurated the ‘Investors Meet’ at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow.
Meanwhile, the recent announcement from the PM has attracted a severe backlash from the state of Andhra Pradesh. ‘The Centre is turning a blind eye towards the state of Andhra Pradesh. This is a clear prejudice towards Andhra Pradesh and its 5 crores people. While we have to fight for our rights that were promised by the Centre, other states, especially in the north get projects.
