The TDP is making an unsparing criticism of Prime Minister Modi ahead of his visit to address a BJP public meeting near Guntur in Andhra Pradesh on January 6. TDP MP Sujana Chowdary advised Modi not to visit Andhra considering the strong feelings prevailing in the state against the injustice done by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
Sujana says Modi has no moral right to visit AP as he has not fulfilled many of the commitments made by the BJP to save AP from the crisis situations. The unscientific and biased division of United AP has caused irreparable damage to the people of AP since 2014. While the Congress party responsible for AP division stepped down, the BJP came to power but it had done nothing to improve the lot of AP people, Sujana said.
Expressing anguish, Sujana said they were not able to understand what was the true purpose of the Modi visit and it would be better if Modi cancelled his visit. He criticised the YSR Congress Party MPs for holding dharnas for Special Category Status outside the Parliament while they do not show such fighting spirit inside the House when the subject comes up for discussion.
Sujana Chowdary said the Modi government had declared Polavaram as a national project and promised to provide total funds but it had failed to meet this commitment.
