PM Modi’s meeting on ‘One Nation One Election’ was boycotted by Congress and major leaders from South like KCR, Chandrababu Naidu and Stalin. Jagan actively took part and sat nearer to Modi in the meeting. After the meet was over, Modi was coming out of the hall. When there was Vijayasai Reddy standing with others in the corridor, Modi specially called him by name and said, “Hai, Vijayasai Garu”.
This has triggered a debate in political circles. Analysts say that undoubtedly, the YCP has gained more marks from Modi as Jagan took part in the BJP’s all-important meeting. Moreover, Congress, BSP and other parties are openly criticising BJP for trying to divert people’s attention from burning issues like poverty alleviation, education, health, etc.
The rival leaders in AP are cracking jokes on the episode. Vijayasai is boasting a lot about the greeting episode. But obviously, there was no special status but only special greetings for YCP leaders. Jagan has made a mention of status issue at the meeting but there was no positive response from Modi-Shah duo.
