Lahore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued to surprise everyone and will be attending Nawaz Sharif’s granddaughter’s wedding. Modi and Sharif flew in a Pakistan Army chopper to the Presidents residence in suburb of Lahore. President Sherif introduced Prime Minister Modi to his family members. Modi will be attending Sharif’s granddaughter’s wedding. After attending the wedding, the two heads of the nation will be closeted for a one-on-one tete.
Modi came to Lahore directly from Afghanistan and he was welcomed by Nawaz Sharif at the Lahore Airport. Modi took Indian and Pakistan media off-guard by adding a sojourn in Pakistan on his way back to Delhi. Today is Nawaj Sherif’s birthday and Modi has managed a diplomatic masterstroke. One hopes this visit is going to be a new chapter in Indo-Pak relations instead of just a front page photo-op.
