The YCP came to power with a landslide victory. Jaganmohan Reddy’s rule is supposed to be for 5 years – from 2019 to 2024. But that is being reduced to just 3 years now. Jagan’s CM term is all set to end in 2022 itself. This is because the Modi government at the Centre is seriously thinking of holding the Jamili One Nation One Election for the Lok Sabha and all State Assemblies in 2022 simultaneously.
At such a time, 4 TDP MPs have now joined the BJP with blessings of the Modi-Shah duo. The YCP is seeing this as a potential threat to its future winning chances. Jagan is planning to polarise Dalit Christians and BCs to ensure victory in next election. But these Jagan plans will certainly receive a setback as the TDP and BJP are likely to join hands now considering MPs merger.
AP is all set to see polarisation of voters along religious lines in the next three years. If that happens, TDP-BJP is expected to give a strong fight to Jagan’s current supremacy on vote bank politics.
