Kapu Reservation movement leader Mudragada Padmanabham appears to be getting restive over chief minister’s delay in implementing the important points he raised at the time taking lemon juice, offered TDP state president Kala Venkata Rao, to call off the fast-unto- death last week.
Writing a letter, the Kapu leader asked the CM to make the Justice KL Manjunath commission functional immediately. This is the basic requirement to ensure that the report is submitted on time.
It has exactly been one week since Mudragada called of his fast on February 8, so far there has been no move from the government to appoint other members for the Kapu commission.
Mudragada himself has given a panel of names to appoint one member at least to the commission as Kapu’s nominee. Similarly, government has to notify the terms of reference for the commission. With these two basic requirements remaining unfulfilled, Mudragada today shot off a letter to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.
He also requested the chief minister to accept the applications for the Kapu loans without any deadline and beneficiaries be allowed to apply online as well.
Another important point Mudragada raised in the letter was the removal of role of Janmabhumi committees in recommending the applications for Kapu Corporation loans.
Mudragada might have suspected that Janmabhumi committees, normally filled TDP leaders, would recommend only those Kapu beneficiaries who owe allegiance to the TDP and turn down the applications of beneficiaries belonging to other parties.
To avoid this Mudragada doesn’t want any role for the Janmabhumi committees in Kapu Corporation loan disbursal.
Is Mudragada thinking that he was conned by chief minister Naidu to call off the fast?
