Hyderabad: While the Telangana government is still unclear over implementation of its ambitious project of double-bedroom houses to the poor, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is learnt to have shifting to a new official residence which is being constructed in Hyderabad.
Muhurat has been set. KCR would inaugurate the official residence on the auspicious day of Dasara. About 70 per cent of the works have been completed. The officials were directed to complete the remaining works on war footing. The official residence is coming on 10 acres just behind the present Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Greenlands colony near Punjagutta.
The CM’s new official residence will occupy two acres of the total land while 250-seat multipurpose auditorium, 100-seat conference hall and staff quarters are coming up in the remaining area. About Rs 35 crore are being spent for the new construction with 100 per cent Vaastu compliant. It may be recalled that KCR laid foundation stone to the buildings in the month of March earlier this year.
The present Camp Office was built by during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime. The then Chief Minister of united AP built the office by spending Rs 10 crore in the year 2005. Later, other Chief Ministers who took the reigns had made several changes to the Camp Office citing vastu complaints by spending Rs 10 crore. Meanwhile, the builders estimated that about Rs 35 crore for the project and the cost might slightly get increased further.
