One of the observations made during this review is the failure of TDP government on fulfilling the promise of jobs or unemployment assistance. However, later, TDP government announced launching of this scheme. However, unemployment assistance is modified to 1000/- per month. The government hopes, this scheme will impact around 12 lakh youngsters. So far already, more than 2 lakh unemployed youth registered on the web portal of the scheme. Around Rs 1,200 crore will be spent annually on the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestham’ scheme.

All these details are updated in online portal of the government (Click here for :Mukhyamantri Yuve Nestham). The application process is online and the statistics of the scheme will be updated on regular basis online. Moreover, the allowance will be credited into the bank account of the beneficiary by the first week of every month. All the applicants will be linked through Aadhar.
Not just about giving money:
As per the officials, ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestham’ scheme is not just about giving money to unemployed every month. It also focuses on skill development and apprenticeship opportunities to unemployed youth.CM told, the primary purpose of the scheme is to empower youth by providing skill development, self-employment opportunities and use youth power for the development of the economy.
Top officials from private companies like Kia Motors, Foxconn and Amara Raja also present during the event and it needs to be seen how the government can coordinate this private sector and unemployed youth.
The future of this scheme:
As of now, it looks like nowhere in the country has this kind of scheme been done at this large scale till date. Even though current phase focuses on disbursing monthly allowance, once this phase is done, government is going to focus on skill development and apprenticeship. So, if whatever is planned on paper now goes live really, definitely it will be like a model for the entire country.
