P Narayana, Municipal administration minister and blue eyed boy of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is head of construction project, Amaravati , a state within the state, fared miserably in the ministerial performance. The urban development minister, according to performance report, is ranked 19 at the bottom of the ladder. Peethala Sujatha, the minister, who attracted unprecedented controversy for accepting a costly gift is number one. Can Narayana be axed for his poor performance, giving room for new faces? Highly impossible.
Sending chills down the spine of minister, Naidu’s released the grades to the media at a time when political circles are agog with the speculation that many heads will roll in next few days and Lokesh Naidu enters the cabinet.
If the sources are to be believed, in the name of course correction Naidu is said to be thinking of giving new look to the cabinet so that they work hard before the 2019 elections. Along with the ministers, even the party heads of district committees have been graded. The release of ranks assumes significance it was made public at a meeting of the party’s coordination comittee, whose duty is to ensure the better understanding between the party and government. It clearly indicates that those with poor marks would be taken to task.
Accoding to party sources, the list has been prepared under the guidance of party national general secretary Lokesh Naidu who has been monotoring the peformance of the ministers and other senior leader. Lokesh, it said, has gathered the inputs to arrive at the ranking from the trips he conducted and the interaction he had with party workers and the ministers and the department related performance he had gathered from his men planted in the peshis as liaison officers or PROs. These inputs, party sources said, have been compared with the intelligence provided by intelligence department. In the process, mining minister minister Peethala Sujatha has been assesses as no. 1 whereas CM’s man Friday municipal administration minister P Narayana assigned rank 19, the last one.
What is surprising is Narayana is only minister after CM who occupined more air-time and column centimeters in media with his predictions about the capital, which still remains a non-starter under his leadership.
“The progress of ministers and MLAs was not only gauged on the basis of their department related performance, it was also measured from the efforts they had made in reaching out the party workers and in achieving the greater coordination between the government and the party. Peethala Sujatha, with no background like that Narayana, has sincerely put efforts in building the party base stronger at grass root level and matching this with her performance at the governmental level,” a source, who doesn’t want to be quoted, told telugu360.com.
Among others irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao has been given No. 2 position while agriculture minister Prathipati Pulla Rao has been assigned third position.
Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas (BJP) is ranked fourth followed by Paritala Sunitha (5), Ravela Kishore Babu (6), K Atchannaidu (7), Ganta Srinivasa Rao (8), Kollu Ravindra (9), Ch Ayyannapathrudu (10) and Palle Raghunadha Reddy (11).
