Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that he will be starting a padayatra (foot march) from the first week of January. He said the padayatra will begin from Vadapally.
CM Revanth Reddy expressed concern over the pollution of the Musi River, stating that it has affected agriculture in the region. He accused “miscreants” of creating obstacles in the Musi purification process, and alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party is at the forefront of these obstructions.
As part of the Musi Punarjeevana (rejuvenation) program, CM Revanth Reddy today started a Sankalp Yatra from Sangem in Yadagirigutta district. He walked a 2.5 km padayatra from the Sangem low-level bridge through the Dharmareddy Pallli canal, and then proceeded on foot to the Musi Punarjeevana Sabha Sthali .
At the meeting, Sangem villagers explained the problems they are facing due to the Musi river to the Chief Minister. Earlier, the CM performed puja at Bhimalingam on the banks of the Musi river in Sangem.
Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Konda Surekha participated in the Sankalp Yatra. A large number of Congress party workers also joined the CM in the padayatra.
“If you have true intent and courage, give me a date and I will deploy bulldozers along with Minister Komatireddy to ensure the Musi is purified. Everyone here is asking for Musi purification, and we will definitely accomplish it,” said CM Revanth Reddy.
The CM also reviewed the development of the Yadagirigutta temple earlier. He announced the decision to rename Yadadirigiri as Yadagirigutta and establish a Yadagirigutta Temple Board on the lines of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
