A music director’s tweet has now kicked up a major war on social media. A tweet related to a newspaper’s ‘Most Desirable Man’ award has now become a flashpoint of sorts between fans of two superstars and the issue has even elicited an official response from the newspaper.
Going into details, the Chennai Times, which is the official Chennai arm of the Times of India, announced Dhanush as the winner of the ‘Most Desirable Man 2016’ contest. This is an annual contest which is run by the paper and fans get to vote. Ideally, the actor with the most number of votes should win.
But there have been many allegations over the years that Times of India manipulates results to suit customers who pay heavily to Media Net, its advertising arm. Music director G.V. Prakash just proved this allegation by posting screenshots of a conversation he reportedly had with a Chennai Times person.
In that, Vijay is clearly mentioned as the winner of the award and the Chennai Times person is seen asking G.V. Prakash for a chance to interview Vijay to get a few questions answered. While none of this has been proven yet, it has now triggered a war between Vijay fans, Ajith fans (who sided with Dhanush) and Dhanush fans.
The paper put out a tweet, saying that malicious interests were trying to damage it and that Dhanush has always been the winner because of the huge number of votes he received.
