Congress-JDS formed government last month after BJP could not prove majority. But after Cabinet expansion, leaders in both Congress and JDS who did not get ministries openly criticising their parties and started ‘group politics’.
After CM Kumaraswamy did Cabinet expansion, the disgruntled and dissident MLAs of the Congress have met at the residence of MB Patil, a former Congress Minister and powerful Lingayat leader. In the latest Cabinet expansion, Congress had dropped several key members of the previous Siddaramaiah Ministry, including M B Patil. According to these dissident leaders, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara had intentionally dropped those who are close to former CM Siddaramaiah. Congress high-command had asked Siddaramaiah to handle these rebel leaders, he did not take the task and is on a tour of Badami, his constituency in north Karnataka.Meanwhile,JDS is also faced with a similar problem.
It is known news that Kumaraswamy expanded his cabinet, by inducting 25 Ministers, with 14 members from the Congress and 9 from JDS and 1 from BSP and 1 from Karnataka Pragnavanta Janata Paksha (the party which was formed by actor Upendra and later he himself resigned from party).
We will have to wait and see how situations turn in future.
