TS CM K Chandrasekhar Rao wanted to utilize Modi’s one day visit to lead two all-party delegations and present memorandums to him on 2 issues. One -classification of scheduled castes and Two – reservation for Muslim minorities. Obviously these two are the promises given given by KCR before 2014 elections. But, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has reportedly declined an appointment to chief minister despite the fact that Modi will be in Hyderabad and he also would be sharing dais with KCR and participating in various other activities along with KCR.
Telangana CMO, has earlier communicated with PMO, received a communication from the PMO stating PM does not have sufficient time to meet the delegations. PMO’s declining said to have upset the chief minister as he has already alerted state unit presidents of other parties like Congress, BJP, TDP, CPI, CPM and MIM about a possible meeting with the PM. During the recent winter session, Chandrasekhar Rao told the Legislative Assembly that an appointment with the PM would be sought for an all party delegation on the demand for categorisation of SCs in the state.
It looks like PMO has deliberately declined KCR request, probably because of the issues involved but not really because of lack of time. BJP has been saying it is not in game for religion based reservations. Also, they never revealed their stand on SC classification issue. But being in Hyderabad, participating several activities along with KCR and still refusing to give time to KCR and his delegations to recieve a memorandum is expected to severe the ties between KCR and Modi regimes
