Dr MV Mysoora Reddy, a senior functionary of YSR Congress, has resigned. Reddy, who comes from Kadapa district has faxed his resignation letter to Party president Jaganmohan Reddy today.
Mysoora Reddy quit the TDP when his Rajya Sabha term ended , to join YSRC, with the hope that he would get some importance, a senior leader deserves in any organization. But, this had not happened. None of his advises had been taken seriously. According to sources, he seniority suffered setback when Jagan ignored his advise and chose to support location of Capital in Guntur district on the banks of river Krishna in 2014.
Mysoora Redy had reportedly suggested some drama- opposing the CRDA bill and creating an earthquake in the House by rushing to the podium and treasury benches, snatching the copy of the bill from the hands of Municipal administration minister P Narayana. The argument of Mysoora was that jagan should not cede ground to the TDP government without resistance. This stand would enhance the image of the party in the eyes of Rayalaseema people, who were losing the capital. With the majority the TDP had in House, passing the CRDA bill was not a big deal even if YSRC opposed it. So, let’s give a fight before the it’s passed, was his stand.
In the morning on December 22, 2014 Jagan endorsed the proposal and agreed to create chaos in the house. In the first hour of the Assembly Jagan resisted the bill. But after first adjournment, Jagan returned to the House, announced, even before speaker called his name , that he was wholeheartedly welcoming the decision of the government to locate the capital on banks of River Krishna. Mysoora Reddy left the YSRCP office, aghast at the U turn Jagan took on the location of the capital. Since then Mysoora had been maintaining distance from party, one thing he had not done was that he did not resign.
There is nothing Mysoora can do after his resignation. Because, he is not welcome greatly in TDP, because he is neither an MLA nor MLC. At best he would get an yellow kanduva from Naidu if joined the party. Naidu would not see eye to eye while offering the Kanduva, and Mysoora will be condemned once for all.
Another option is BJP. But, what he would get from BJP, nothing. So the best option is going back to Congress where he would be most welcome and could at least keep talking as the spokesperson.
As for Rayalaseema movement- the era of leaders of his generation was over. Now, a generation of leaders like Bojja Dasaratham Ramireddy (farmers), G Praveeen Reddy (steel plant)etc, are fighting for justice to the farmers and youth. Mysoora would be misfit in their company, because they don’t have any plan to attract power politics.
What is left for people like Mysoora ? In his own words, reading books and writing autobiography.
Mysoora Reddy is man of precision and pucca information. He never indulges in flippancy and does laborious homework before attacking the powers that be. He is one of the Rayalaseema politicians who never allowed his dialect polluted by Andhra influence. It is really a pleasant experience to talk to him and spend some time talking politics.
