Adilabad: Mystery shrouded death of Kerameri Sub-Inspector of police (SI) after doubts being raised over misfire of his service weapon. The sub-inspector, identified as Sridhar, suffered severe head injury when two rounds of his weapon pierced through his head due to misfire at Kerameri police station on Tuesday morning. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in government hospital in Asifabad.
He was scheduled to visit Jodeghat, about 50 kms away from Kerameri headquarters, on an official duty. Meanwhile, several doubts being raised over the incident. Has the weapon really misfired? or Did he commit suicide following harassment from the higher officials?
Sridhar was transferred to Kerameri a couple of days ago after completion of his probationary period. Pall of gloom descended over his native village Avunuru in Sircilla mandal of Karimnagar district.
It may be recalled that Kukunoorpally SI T. Ramakrishna Reddy allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver after purportedly leading a note stating the he was being harassed by his senior higher-ups in the department over ‘mamool’ on August 16.
