Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman N.Md. Farooq resigned to his post today as he will be swearing in as minister in Chandra Babu Naidu cabinet.
N.Md.Farooq was former Minister and Deputy Speaker in undivided Andhra Pradesh. In November 2017, he succeeded A. Chakrapani, as AP Legislative Council Chairman post. He was in this post for around one year. Now Shareef, who is also from minority category, will succeed him in the post.
One of the main criticism on Chandra Babu Naidu’s cabinet is that it doesnt have any one belonging to Muslim minority community. At somepoint of time there were reports that Jaleel Khan, who defected into TDP from YSRCP, will be inducted into CBN’s cabinet but that didn’t materialize and hopes of this MLA, who is called as B.Com Physics graduate by netizens, were shattered. Now Farooq will be inducted into cabinet and Shareef will take over as AP Legislative Council Chairman post.
