Opposition YSRCongress today dismissed the Centre for Media Studies (CMS) survey as a study done by a family member to project chief minister N Chandrabadu as a leader without alternative. The party said this study was attempt to cover up Naidu’s failure and amoral activities like engineering defections.
The study was done by Delhi based CMS, whose director is Dr Bhaskar Rao , a Telugu man.
Reacting on the reports party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said the whole objective of the study appears to be creating a false impression about Naidu’s government among the people.
” If Naidu has no alternative in the state, as indicated by the CMS study, Naidu should not hesitate all the defector to resign from the Assembly and seek reelection from the constituencies they won in 2014. A leader, who has no alternative in the state should not scared of the byelections,” Ambati dared TDP.
Attacking the CMS as an organization without any credibility, Ramababu recalled a report CMS produced before 2004 elections which predicted the return of Naidu as chief minister for the third term. ” You all saw what happened in 2004 elections,” he said.
Ambati ridiculed the survey as the work done by a family group of chief minister Naidu. Those who published the report prominently were also news outlets belonging to this family circle, he alleged. The CMS lacks credibility, he said and added that Naidu was known to resort to this type of gimmics whenever he sees trouble ahead.
” The conduct a so called study. and leak the information to certain newspapers. The study was conducted to mould the people’s opinion in favor of Telugu Desam party and Chandrababu Naidu. If Naidu is so sure about his popularity let him face the test. He has taken 11 MLAs from YSRC. Ask them to resign from the Assembly and get them reelected,” he said.
