Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu finally reacted on the budget and admitted that union budget did give a raw deal to the state of Andhra Pradesh. But the reaction was friendly and devoid of any hostile element. And Naidu is hopeful that centre would take corrective measures and help Andhra Pradesh to come out of its financial troubles.
Addressing party leaders in the general body meeting of Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam at Vijayawada, Naidu said he spoke to union finance minister Arun Jaitley about the injustice done to the state.
“Arun Jaitley said allocations were made sector-wise. State-wise allocations have been done away with,” Naidu told the meeting.
Stating that the Polavaram first phase would be completed by 2018, he said it would take some time to get clarity on budget allocations for pending projects.
He said he had spoken to central finance minister this morning and conveyed to him the sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
” It is the responsibility of centre to come to the aid of the state in view of the problems thrown up the division thrust on the people. The union finance minister said he was aware of the problems of Andhra Pradesh. He assured that state would get adequate funding from the sectoral allocations made in the budget,” Naidu said.
He told the gathering that he was expecting a positive response from the centre soon.
