Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had a hectic today in New Delhi. Naidu arrived in the national capital to have consultations with PM seeking liberal budgetary allocation for Andhra Pradesh which he said was still in throes of bifurcation.
He called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi this afternoon and reminded him the unfulfilled assurances of union government which includes Special category status to Andhra Pradesh, special developmental package to backward regions , special incentives to the investors coming forward to set up industries in Capital region. Naidu urged rail connectivity for Amaravati. Naidu union fiance minister Arun Jaitley, Rural Development minister Chowdary Birender Singh, Railway minister Suresh Prabhu, Transport minister Nitin Gadkari etc.
The chief minister presented separate memoranda to the PM, finance minister, rural development minister and Railway minister on pending issues.
Wish list of chief minister Chadrababu Naidu
*Release of Rs 13,776 crore at the earliest to cover the revenue deficit
* Special Development Package for backward regions of AP, in particular Rayalaseema and North Coastal districts, on the lines of Koraput-Bolongir-Kalahandi special package and the Bundelkhand Special Package in MP & UP.
* Providing annual development grant of Rs 200 Crores to each of the seven districts in the Budget 2016-17
* Appropriate fiscal measures, including tax incentives to promote industrialization and economic growth will be provided to Andhra Pradesh. The incentives will be along the lines extended to some other states.
* Providing 15% additional accelerated depreciation and 15% additional investment allowance.
* Providing Rs 1,500 croresin the Budget for Andhra Pradesh to develop industrial estates
* A grant of four thousand crore Rupees (Rs 4,000) in the 2016-17 Budget for financing government buildings and other essential infrastructure for Amaravati and for construction of Metro project in Vijayawada.
* All investments in Amaravati infrastructure be exempted from taxation and the State government be permitted to seek financing from the National Infrastructure Investment Fund and raise Zero Coupon Bonds and Tax-Free Bonds.
* Special Category Status will be extended to the successor State of Andhra Pradesh for a period of five years.
* An amount of Rs. 4,092 Crore may be provided for Polavaram Irrigation Project in the budget of 2016-17.
