Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, after a long time, is visiting the secretariat of Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad. He is arriving in Hyderabad on Saturday and will hold a review meeting with all senior officials.
Even though the employees of the state government are not willing to migrate to Vijayawada, Naidu has made Vijayawada his capital city and launched a plan to give city an ultra modern look. He knows the beautification of Vijayawada would not take off without his presence in the city. So, Naidu has become the first VVIP resident of the Vijayawada city by setting up his camp office and hiring a farm house for his family to stay in the new capital region of the state. He has already given his nod for the launch of works to upgrade Vijayawada into an ultra-modern city with advanced traffic signaling system and wider roads with an amount of Rs 96.32 crore.
State government has already sent a circular to all the principal secretaries, secretaries and Heads of Departments (HoDs) about the CM’ arrival and Saturday’s meeting. He is expected to review the steps being taken to resolve all the contentious issues raised by the employees to shift their base to Vijayawada. Most likely, Naidu will set a deadline for the full scale transfer the government to Vijayawada in the meeting. Meanwhile, DGP Ramudu is shifting his office and residence to Vijayawada on November 30.
Government has appointed GP Anand, assistant state silviculturist at Regional Forest Research Centre, Rajahmundry, as assistant director of horticulture for Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, to take up the plantation and greenery program in large scale under the city beautification program and canal beautification plan.
This is to bring about a climate change in hot and humid Vijayawada, which earned a nickname ‘Blazewada’. Anand is an expert in various planting activities and Remote Sensing GIS and GPS. The State government wants to utilize his services in beautifying the city by constructing footpaths, setting up road dividers and enhancing greenery wherever necessary to elevate the profile of the city to that of a capital city.
