TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday wrote a letter to ACB court judge stating that there is a threat to his life in the Rajamahendravaram central jail. He told the judge that the ruling party leaders have engaged Naxalites and National Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) criminals in the jail.
He said that an NDPS criminal from S Kota was roaming in the jail with a pen camera recording the movements of the prisoners. Two drowns were seen moving around the jail, also recording the movements of the jail, he said.
Naidu also listed out a number of incidents where the ruling party leaders have thrown stones at his vehicles and rallies. He alleged that the ruling party leaders were planning to harm him physically or even eliminate him.
He further said that the SP of East Godavari had received a letter stating that some left-wing extremists in the jail have planned to eliminate him in the jail. He regretted that neither the East Godavari district police or the jail officials have taken steps to check it and take appropriate action to prevent any such attack on him.
“Time and again we have been complaining about the unruly activities of the ruling party leaders and their activists to the police, but no action has been taken against any of them till now,” Chandrababu Naidu said in his letter.
Chandrababu Naidu requested the ACB court to “undertake foolproof security arrangements in and around the Central Prison, Rajamahendravaram, commensurate with the Z plus category security cover provided to me.”
Naidu had a couple of days ago told the judge that he had security complaints in the jail. Responding to this, the judge asked Naidu to write everything on paper and give it to the jail officials. She also told the jail officials to send the letter to her.
Accordingly, Naidu wrote the letter, and it was sent to the ACB court along with the seal and signature of the jail superintendent.
It is now to be seen what steps the ACB court would take in response to the complaint given by Chandrababu Naidu.
