Hyderabad: Jana Sena leader and Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan has warned that Nandigram incident will be repeated in West Godavari district if the AP government is adamant in acquiring lands of farmers without securing public opinion for setting up Rs 800 crore aqua food park.
Pawan Kalyan was interacting with villagers of Narapuram and Bhimavaram mandals during a press meet organised at Image Gardens near Madhapur here in the city on Saturday evening.
Farmers and villagers poured their woes before Pawan Kalyan narrating their problems in their localities back in their villages in Godavari delta. The villagers urged the Jana Sena leader to fight for their rights and bring justice to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan questioned the State government for granting permission to the companies which are intended to bring colossal damage to the rivers and other water bodies.
“When the AP government had conducted Krishna and the Godavari pushkaralu with much pomp and pride, why it is giving permission to the companies which are polluting the rivers,” Pawan Kalyan questioned.
The Godavari districts had played a key role in bringing the TDP to power in the truncated Andhra Pradesh, he pointed out. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi is calling for revival of the river Ganga,it is unfair for the BJP leaders to pollute rivers in the Telugu State, he said.
Pawan also wondered as to why there was a need for clamping 144 Section in serene and peaceful villages.
