The Junior NTR and Rakul Preet Singh starred “Nannaku Prematho” slated to be released on Sankranthi has landed in a controversy on Saturday. The Andhra Pradesh Minority Commission slapped a show-cause notice as to why criminal cases should not be filed against the Producer, Director, Actor and others responsible for hurting the feelings of the minority community.
Hyderabad: The Junior NTR and Rakul Preet Singh starred “Nannaku Prematho” film scheduled to be released on Sankranthi eve has landed in a controversy on Saturday. On receiving a complaint from a resident of Hyderabad, the Andhra Pradesh Minorities Commission has issued notices to the Police Commissioner, Hyderabad, Officer in charge of the Regional Film Censor Board, Hyderabad.
The notice said that the publicity posters of Nannaku Prematho “portrayed the heroine in obscene posture with the backdrop of in the name of “Allah” (SWT), Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) so also Quranic Verses.”
Further, the complaint stated that by this action, “The Producer, Director, and Actor intentionally hurt the feelings of the Muslim community and have attempted to insult the Prophet Mohammad and Quran.” And, the petitioner has urged the commission to direct the concerned to file criminal cases as per the law.
Taking cognizance of the petition, the commission has registering a complaint and issued show cause notices to the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Officer in Charge, Regional Censor Board, Hyderabad “Seeking a reply within seven working days, as to why a criminal case should not be filed against the producer, director, actor as well as other responsible persons.”
The commission has also “recommended for removal and withdrawing the posters so as to not to hurt the Muslim Community further.”
