Nara Lokesh, coordinator of Telugu Desam Party Workers’ Welfare Fund met Barack Obama, in a democratic party fundraiser dinner in Portland,Oregon  on May 9th 2015 . This meeting triggered lot of debate back home that Lokesh’s so called “appointment” was secured by donating $10,000 to Democratic Party fund.

In the latest release by Wikileaks, the emails exchanged between Bobby Schmuck, Obama’s special assistant and leaders of Democratic party came to light. One thread of these emails were exchanged on May 14th 2015,  five days after the democractic party fundraiser dinner ,   and Schmuck was inquiring about Nara Lokesh, his background and citizenship.

Schmuck sent Lokesh’s Wikipedia profile and asked the democratic leaders if any of them have met before. A DNC leader replied to Schmuck’s email saying “I got one name hit in Lexis and there is no voter record”. There was no reply from Democratic leaders after that and Schmuck sent another email to the party leaders asking if Lokesh has “green card or some type of visa and if so what kind”. There was no further communication after that.
