After witnessing desertion of large number of party leaders to ruling party Telugu Desam Party, recent admissions from other parties has been creating new enthusiasm among opposition YSR Congress Party leaders, leading makes their morale high. During last two years as many as 20 party MLAs left the party and joins TDP.
Former MLC and East Godavari district Congress president Kandula Durgesh joined the opposition party just yesterday. A former Congress MLA and BJP leader from Vijayawada Vellampalli Srinivas is joining the party today. Former Chief Minister Kasu Brahmananda Reddy’s grandson Kasu Prakash Reddy will be joining the party at a public meeting in Narasaraopet on Dec 16.
Moreover, for the last six months desertion of MLAs was also halted. Besides, the party receiving indications from some of them joined TDP are unhappy there and ready to return back. YSRCP leaders are claiming that some of TDP legislators, who are discontented with the raw deal being extended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh, are in touch with them.
Though a news channel, known as close associate of Chief Minister’s family released a survey that TDP is in strong position and certain to win 120 to 140 seats, if elections are held now, YSRC leaders are sensing the ground realities are different. Even some of ministers and senior leaders of TDP are admitting in private conversations steep fall in state government’s image.
A senior YSRCP leader claims even Chandrababu Naidu’s family operated internal survey indicating it would be difficult for the party to win more than one third of seats if polls are held as of now. He felt that fast changing ground realities only making others to choose their party rather than the ruling party.
