Despite opposition from other parties and people’s organisations has drawn a lot of flak from all sections, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s adamant statement in the state legislative assembly has drawn a lot of flak from all sections.
KCR stated that he would construct the new secretariat and assembly complex at Bison Polo Grounds at the cost of Rs 500 crore. The Telangana Chief Minister is being questioned by several leaders and organizations for his wrong priorities.
“At a time when the cotton farmers are committing suicides due to failure of crops, is it so urgent to spend so much money on new secretariat building? Moreover, the roads in Hyderabad are very bad causing a lot of inconvenience to the people. The government can as well spend money on roads rather than wasting it on the new buildings,” a Telangana JAC leader said.
The Chief Minister was also lashed out by controversial professor Kancha Ilaiah, who also joined the issue. He wondered that on the pretext of Vasthu, whether it was proper on KCR’s part to shift the secretariat at the cost of public money.
“If the Vasthu of the Secretariat is wrong, how did Telangana state was achieved?” he asked.
Instead of utilizing the funds on constructing new Secretariat, the chief minister could spend funds on rescuing cotton farmers, suggested Mr. Ilaiah.
