With Karnataka election Approaching fast, the political equations changing so quickly and dynamically in Karnataka. As of now most of the surveys predicting Congress Party at first place, BJP at Second place and Deve Gowda’s JDS party at third place. It is also predicted that Of the party will get complete majority and two of them have to forge an alliance to form the Government.
With this background, it seems BJP and Congress both understood support of jds will be crucial to form the government. So BJP seem to have started wooing JDS leaders so that they may prefer alliance with them after elections. Modi praised Deve Gowda in election campaign as he said, “Whenever former prime minister HD Deve Gowda visits me in Delhi, I welcome him with respect and always give him time. I not only receive Gowda at the door and opening the door of his car but also accompany this 84-year-old former prime minister up to the car when he is leaving.”
While Prime Minister Modi heaped praise on him with those kind words, Deve Gowda also reciprocated the same way and said his continuation as Lok Sabha member was only due to Modi’s persuasion skills. He said,. “Before the 2014 elections, I had said I would resign my Lok Sabha membership if BJP gets a majority on its own. I decided to resign, but Modi persuaded me against doing so. He said the country needs the experience and services of senior leaders,”.
It seems this newly blossomed love between BJP and jds is an indication of possible alliance after election even though Deve Gowda at the moment is condemning such possibility.
