Industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad was released on conditional bail in Serbia. The court ordered him to stay and not move out of Serbian Capital City Belgrade. The bail conditions will remain applicable for a maximum period of one year. Before its expiry, the UAE government should complete the process of deportation.
The Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven Emirates in UAE, has requested for arrest and deportation of Prasad as part of a red corner notice issued by the Interpol. The UAE, on behalf of RAK, would have to put its arguments before the Serbian court on the grounds for deportation. RAK has been accusing Nimmagadda Prasad of causing wilful losses to it in the VANPIC project in Andhra Pradesh. Prasad had travelled to England and other countries in the past but he was not arrested despite red corner notice.
Nimmagadda Prasad is also the accused number 3 in the CBI quid pro quo case against main accused CM Jaganmohan Reddy in India. His lawyers informed the CBI court about his arrest in Serbia and his inability to fulfill the bail conditions set by it for visiting the foreign country.
The UAE has taken serious view of RAK case and it’s expected to speed up deportation process to take Prasad into its custody.
